COMPANY BACKGROUND
As a leading commercial developer
during the 70’s & 80’s, Robert Knowles became involved
in the construction of his church’s new facility. Through that
& subsequent church building projects, he quickly realized
the need churches have for a service that specializes in the
intricacies of building, expanding, or relocating their
facilities. He also learned first hand the difficulty of the
positions in which building committees, pastors, and board
members find themselves.
Based on his commercial and church building experiences,
Robert founded Arks in 1994 to provide an unparalleled package
of services to assist churches in their building projects. As
part of God's vision for Arks, He led Robert to write “Successful
Church Building”, an invaluable guide for anyone involved in
planning church construction.
Arks is a ministry based organization, headquartered in
Raleigh, North Carolina, serving churches that are considering
building, expanding or relocating their facilities. Arks is
unique in taking the interests of the church as its first and
most important priority, serving as a guide through
the maze of problems that can
beset expansion or relocation. Since a building project can be
divisive to a local church, Arks, Incorporated endeavors to be
the instrument that helps keep harmony and peace within the
church body.

WHAT
WE ARE NOT: We
are not architects nor general contractors. North Carolina
General Statute 83A-1(7) defines the “Practice of
Architecture” as performing or offering to perform or holding
oneself out as legally qualified to perform professional
services in connection with the design, construction,
enlargement or alteration of building, including consultation,
investigations, evaluations, preliminary studies, the
preparation of plans, specifications and contract documents,
administration of construction contracts and related services or
combination of services in connection with the design and
construction of buildings.
I personally am not a
licensed architect and Arks, Incorporated is not a licensed
architectural firm. We in no way intentionally suggest we
are experts in that profession or offer these services. - Robert
Knowles, President.
